How vegan.co.uk HelpsHere at vegan.co.uk we are always trying to cut down the CO2 emissions of everything we do.
Many companies source a lot of their products from abroad which means it accumulates lots of air miles and that means lots of unneccesary emissions, at vegan.co.uk we try our best to help the environment in any way possible. Listed below are some of the actions we take to help.
We send all our products out in recycled or reused packaging with no bleaching products used, the packaging is 100% cardboard and can be recycled after it is received this helps vegan.co.uk protect the environment and it also means the consumer at home isn't left with unwanted packaging. It can be reused again or recycled at home too. The white bleaching products a lot of companies use on their packaging and the proccess of making this bleach requires using a lot of harmful chemicals, the boxes at vegan.co.uk have not been tampered with or modified in any way to change the appearance - they are just one hundred percent cardboard and nothing else.
We try and source as many products as possible from local companies and small businesses. This helps to reduce the air miles that the food products have when they reach us and, finally, when they reach the consumer.
We focus on finding products which source their raw ingredients from British farmland so that the vegetables are fresher and take a lot less CO2 to produce and deliver.
Some products such as soy beans can't be grown in England so they must be imported to be used in products, these products will still be stored at vegan.co.uk and we hope some of the other changes we make such as the recycled packaging will help offset this.
By selling only vegan products we help make a huge impact on the environment. By not buying anything which helps support the meat industry we save thousands of animals with your help and with that we also save the water and CO2 that is used to farm that meat.
At vegan.co.uk we try to make as much difference as we can and we are always changing our practices to help the environment in any way we can.
