Two Naked Ladies
Two naked ladyies “showered” in downtown Helena Thursday as part of a stunt aimed at promoting a vegan lifestyle.
Ms Anderson and Ms Marie Lucas are touring the country showering in public places as part of the “Clean Your Conscience: Go Vegan” campaign organized by PETA.
According to PETA, the water needed to produce one pound of meat could be used for 6 months of showers. The group also claims the meat industry produces greenhouse gases.
Anderson and Lucas, strategically covered in suds, further conserved water by the sharing the makeshift shower set up where the walking mall meets Broadway Avenue.
“It’s a beautiful day for a shower,” Anderson said.
PETA says the best way to save water is through a vegan diet. Every meal without meat helps, Anderson said.
“It takes a lot to expose yourself to the public but that is nothing when you think about the atrocities happening at animal factory farms,” she added.
The duo waved at passersby and took photos with some as pamphlets extolling the virtues of veganism were handed out.
“It’s not every day you see ladies showering downtown,” said Carey Ester, a passerby.
